Superior Refinery Fire

A nonprofit organization has put out an analysis on toxic industrial air pollution locations across the United States. They found 1,000 locations including one right here in the Twin Ports.

It's been three years since the explosion, evacuations, and fear of the Husky refinery explosion.

In an effort to make it easier for the public to access information about the fire and followup information, officials with Douglas County are pointing to a website information hub where anyone can access the most recent updates.

Yesterday was a scary day for the Twin Ports and especially if you lived near the Husky Oil Refinery in Superior.

The City of Superior held a press conference at 10 am Friday morning addressing the latest information regarding the fire at the Husky Refinery, the air and water quality, and continuing mop-up efforts at the site.

While there are no evacuations in place for Duluth, officials with the City and St. Louis County are advising what they call a 'Shelter in Place Advisory' for residents in some of the western communities.
