By all accounts, the Soundtrack of Summer was a blast for Styx, Foreigner and Don Felder, as well as the fans who turned out to see them take the road for a series of package dates -- but Styx and Foreigner's final night on the road together still turned out to be a real drag.
Foreigner and Styx are hitting the road with Don Felder for the Soundtrack of Summer tour, scheduled to begin May 16 -- and they stopped by the Ultimate Classic Rock offices to talk about how it came together, what inspired their new re-recording of the Eagles classic 'Hotel California,' and what we can expect to see and hear during the tour.
A trio of classic-rock giants will hit the road together this summer for a two-and-a-half-month tour that winds across the U.S. Foreigner, Styx and Don Felder will launch the 'Soundtrack of Summer' tour in mid May.
Midwestern rockers Styx and REO Speedwagon will stage a benefit concert to aid central Illinois families impacted by the recent tornadoes and high winds that hit the area. The event, scheduled for Dec. 4 at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, has been titled Rock to the Rescue.
Since founding their Rock to the Rescue charity in 2002, frequent tourmates Styx and REO Speedwagon have raised money for a growing number of worthy causes. Their latest focus: the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
The train just keeps a ‘rollin on ‘The Midwest Rock ‘N Roll Express’ tour, featuring the triple bill of Styx, REO Speedwagon and Ted Nugent. The classic rock collective that earned a prominent spot on our ‘Must-See Rock Concerts of 2013’ list recently made a pit stop in Springfield, Mass. on April 23.
