Congratulations to Paul Simon for nabbing the 2012 Polar Music Prize, which is awarded annually in Sweden to one contemporary artist and to one classical artist. Cellist Yo-Yo Ma grabbed the award on the classical side.

It’s technically arriving a year late, but Paul Simon‘s landmark 1986 album ‘Graceland’ is celebrating its 25th anniversary this summer with a deluxe box set reissue and a new retrospective documentary, ‘Under African Skies.’ In a new clip from the film, Simon discusses the creative process behind the album.

As Paul Simon marks the 25th anniversary of his landmark ‘Graceland’ album, he’ll also be part of this summer’s Hard Rock Calling Festival in London’s Hyde Park.

During Sunday’s ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, Paul Simon gave a haunting acoustical performance of ‘The Sound of Silence’ while some onlookers wept.
