Black Friday - the official "first day of the Christmas shopping season - is almost here.  Millions of consumers will hit the stores - early - for the supposed chance to clean up on the best prices of the season. But are they really the best prices?

While a few lake effect snowflakes continue to fall in the later hours of Black Friday 2012, snowfall totals are coming in from around the area. The snow, which made travel very difficult through much of Minnesota and Wisconsin Thanksgiving and Black Friday definitely added up in some portions of the region.

As reported earlier, the possibility of winter weather threatening travel and activities for Thanksgiving and Black Friday in the Twin Ports was looming. The National Weather Service has now made it official.

While weather for travelers in Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin will be nice on Thanksgiving morning, wintry conditions will be making their way into the Twin Ports region  by Thursday night and Friday - making travel a little more difficult for holiday drivers and shoppers.
