Tacos Tacos Tacos Reopening In Downtown Duluth At New Location
Tacos Tacos Tacos has been closed temporarily since October of 2021. Fans of the popular eatery (or tacos in general), here is a reason to celebrate!
Robert Giuliani, the owner of Tacos Tacos Tacos told the Duluth News Tribune he is going to re-open, but in a new location. The restaurant, currently at 108 East Superior Street, had to close when the lease for that address ended. They've since found a new home, not far from where they previously operated.
Giuliani says he is moving a block away, to 202 East Superior Street. This is the former T-icy Roll location. Prior to that, it had been Lake Superior Art Glass.
When will the move happen? It's not quite known yet. Owner, Giuliani said with COVID affecting the supply chain and labor, he is still in the planning stages. He did say that he is hoping to open by summer.
Guiliani told the Duluth News Tribune that he was happy with the following in such a short time of Tacos Tacos Tacos. He said he was excited for everyone to see the new place and once finished with all the preparations will be very bright and located in the Historic Arts and Theater District.
Robert Giuliani has been in Mexico for most of the winter, trying other recipes to add to his authentic creations. He said to the DNT that Tacos Tacos Tacos will offer most of the same menu as before but he will also add some new inspirations he has tried in Mexico.
When I talked to Robert, he was newly engaged to his longtime girlfriend Elin who is also part of the restaurant. Guiliani told me he prides himself on keeping the restaurant about being like the real thing, like a trip south of the border once you walk through the door.
He also told me about putting together a food truck to take Tacos Tacos Tacos on the road. He said he was going to "drive Mexico" to locations around Duluth or to the Twin Cities, where ever the demand is.
He also told me about the desire to open in the Twin Cities, and wants to put a location in by the Xcel Energy Center. I told him he should go inside the "X' so I could have Tacos Tacos Tacos during a Wild Game.
Robert told me he worked with chefs in Mexico while he was there. in order to get the recipes right and some of them asked if he would either work for them or open a store in Mexico.
Guiliani is excited about all the changes and told me he is looking forward to sharing the new creations and Tacos Tacos Tacos location with Duluth. He even asked me if I would be a part of the next Tacos Tacos Tacos Taco Eating Contest in the Fall.
Here are some highlights from the first annual Taco Eating Contest.
