This is a great alternative to traditional trick-or-treating! The Superior YMCA is holding a drive-thru trick-or-treating event on Halloween day.

The event kicks off at noon and will take place at the location's lower west parking lot. Anyone taking part in the event must remain in their vehicles as to comply with current COVID-19 guidelines and policies. The event will continue until about 2 p.m.

The Superior YMCA is located at 9 North 21st Street. You do not need to pre-register for the event. You can simply come anytime in the two hour window and collect your candy! It is also completely free of charge.

As mentioned, this is a great alternative to traditional trick-or-treating, which many are opting out of doing this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, the Mayo Clinic released safety guidelines for this Halloween season. Included in their suggestions for this year is a "scavenger hunt" style game rather than going door to door to score candy. This is all in an effort to limit contact with others as the pandemic continues.

There are a ton of other activities, like the drive-thru trick-or-treating event, that are getting creative this year so that we can still celebrate Halloween but remain as safe as possible. One example of this is a drive-thru haunted house attraction located just a few hours from Duluth. Those that take part stay in their car while driving through haunted setups. This limits your contact with ghosts and ghouls while still allowing you to take part in a fun Halloween event.
