A military veteran has claimed the $1 million dollar Powerball prize from a ticket sold at a Superior, Wisconsin Kwik Trip store.

According to the Wisconsin State Lottery, Glen Erickson from Superior matched all five numbers (10, 17, 18, 43, 65) not including the Powerball (13) in the February 2 drawing.  Player odds for winning the $1 million prize are 1 in 11,688,054.

In their press release, Erickson is quoted as saying it was all 'dumb luck' as he did not play a favorite set of numbers, but won by using the quick pick method when he purchased the ticket.

He also didn't realize right away that he was the $1 million winner.  After speaking with a co-worker about where the winning ticket was sold, he decided to call his elderly mother to have her check the ticket he had recently purchased.  It was only then that he realized he was the lucky winner.

Erickson says the money wont' change who he is, but it will allow him to help more people in his life.
