As the Superior Spartans prepare for their second straight trip to the WIAA Girls Basketball Tournament, senior forward Jessica Lindstrom is collection statewide accolades for her stellar performances on the court.

The Wisconsin Sports Network named Lindstrom the top senior post player as a part of their annual senior girls basketball awards. The announcement was made yesterday (Tuesday) via the WSN website, which had the following to say about Lindstrom:

Lindstrom plays with a high motor and can affect the game in a variety of ways. The Green Bay recruit averages 21.2 points per game and is also near the top of state in rebounding per game at 16.9 per contest.

Along with earning this honor, Lindstrom has been nominated for ESPN Wisconsin's Wisconsin Sports Awards. She is the only local nominee in any of the three high school categories, being named one of three finalists in the Girls High School Player of the Year category. She joins Mackenzie Latt of Sussex Hamilton and Arike Ogunbowale of Divine Savior Holy Angels.

The award ceremony will be held this year on April 24 at the Kern Center in Milwaukee.
