Superior Schools Will Add Time to Each Day to Make for Closures
Due to the extreme cold and snow, Superior Schools will need to make up some time.
The district announced today how they plan on doing that, instead of adding days to the school year, starting on Monday, February 18th, seven minutes will be added to each remaining school day.
This additional time will help the district comply with Wisconsin's Hours of Instruction requirements.
The district said that they considered a variety of scenarios, and after consulting with the staff they decided that this was the best course of action.
No word on if any additional time will need to be added if more days have to be canceled due to the weather, but I imagine that it's a possibility so stay tuned.
At this time Duluth schools are fine and won't have to add time, but that could change with the weather, we will see.
