Superior City Councilor Graham Garfield Arrested On Charges Of Domestic Violence And Weapons Charges
The Douglas County Sheriff's Department has arrested Superior City Councilor Graham Garfield on charges of Domestic Violence and Weapons charges. According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Inmate Roster page, the 26-year old Graham was taken into custody last night.
According to a details released by the Duluth News Tribune, the Superior Police responded to a domestic call at a home that turned out to be Graham's. When the police arrived, he had already fled the scene. Later, the Douglas County Sheriff's Department picked up Graham near Pattison State Park.
Newly-elected Mayor Jim Paine released a statement saying:
I was alarmed to learn about the very shocking allegations against Mr. Graham Garfield. My office will be monitoring the situation very closely and I will work with the City Council leadership to ensure that this situation does not impede the good work we have begun.
Graham just won re-election to his 6th District seat on the Superior City Council. He is employed as a letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service.
