No question:  Hockey is a great way to pass the time during a Northland winter!  In an effort to salute the two major hockey teams that call Superior home (namely the Spartans and the Yellowjackets), the City of Superior is holding a special event.

Hockey Night in Superior will happen Wednesday, February 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at almost all of the rinks in town.  Everyone is invited to come out to your neighborhood rink and skate with members of the Superior Spartan high school hockey team and the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjacket college team.

Helmets are mandatory to take part in the event.  If you need to borrow equipment, call 715-394-4899 by 4:00 PM on February 5th to arrange it.

One other note:  All city-wide rinks will be closed on Tuesday, February 6 for flooding in advance of the event.  In addition, residents are to take note that the rink in Veterans Park on Catlin Avenue will not be included as part of the Hockey Night in Superior event.
