Food For Thought is serving the public. It is Duluth’s only student operated restaurant located in the newly remodeled East High School.This program is under the management of Duluth’s own Culinary Instructor Glen D’Amour who has both owned and operated restaurants in Duluth.

Food For Thought offers Classic, Casual, and Fine Dining Entrées and enticing weekly specials which the Culinary Art students prepare and the wait staff students serve to the customers. They rotate their duties and learn all aspects of cooking and waiting tables– including how to prepare and cook various types of food, how to serve the public which involves problem solving and math skills.

Food for Thought serves up entrees, gourmet salads, sandwiches and deserts Entrees range from $7 to $14.  Food For Thought is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon-1 p.m. Reservations are required: you must reserve and preorder 24 hours in advance by calling 218-336-8975 ext. 4055 or 218-336-8845 ext. 4055. Some of the meals that will be featured in the month of November:

  • November 5, 6, 7 — Beef Wellington for $14
  • November 12, 13, 14 — Fennel Roasted Pork Prime Rib for $11
  • November 19, 20, 21 — Fresh Grilled Halibut en Mole for $1

Meals are served with choice of soup or salad, homemade foccacia bread and choice of beverage.

When visiting, you can park in the main lot at Duluth East (some curbside parking available) and enter through the nurse’s entrance to the right of the main entrance. The restaurant is down the hall to the right.

Only cash and checks are accepted. Tips pay for culinary field trips and other payment goes toward food costs. the restaurant is open through May 31.
