Sometimes you can hear about an event but you need to experience it for yourself in order to realize what it's all about.  That was the idea behind our radio station crew playing hooky (not "hockey" - with pun (semi) intended) yesterday on the ice near Barkers Island in Superior.  As the Twin Ports gets ready for the Lake Superior Ice Festival, we decided to actually get out on the ice at the event site to get an up-close and personal look at what awaits.

The Festival - which runs January 27-29 - promises a celebration of all-things winter from ice art to an ice bar.  There will also be a boot hockey tournament on the bay and that's where we played our ragtag version of "PUCK" (think "HORSE").

Who won?  Who cares!  We had fun, and you will too at the Lake Superior Ice Festival.

Watch our video for a fun sneak-peak at what awaits.
