It's the holiday season, and many of us are vigilant about protecting our packages from porch pirates. It's been an increasing problem in recent years with so many people shopping online and having packages delivered. Now in at least two cases, criminals have gotten even more aggressive targeting the actual Amazon delivery trucks.

In one case, the driver believed he was being followed by a dark colored SUV on Bush Avenue in St. Paul which is just north of Minnehaha Avenue. When he got out to make one of his deliveries, he saw someone get out of the SUV, then run and jump into his delivery truck and flee at high speed.

KARE11 reports that not long after that incident, someone spotted people unloading an Amazon truck into a dark colored SUV near York Avenue. The witness copied the license plate number. Police then tracked the vehicle to the owner and they found some of the stolen packages at that address.

About 24 hours later another Amazon truck was hijacked at gunpoint. According to the driver the suspect said to the driver, "You still got your job, you want to keep your life jump out." It's not clear if these two acts of crime are related.

The police haven't released details, but do say that there was an arrest made, however they are still investigating and ask that if you have any information to reach out to them.

It's dangerously scary for the drivers of the vans, and definitely a serious situation. On a less severe note, think of all the Christmas gifts that may not arrive for the holiday season and the confusion that ensues with trying to pack one of these packages.

On a side note, aren't these vans equipped with GPS?
