Local area veterans that need to visit the county Veterans Services Office will have a new location to head for - starting Monday, June 25.  The St. Louis County Veterans Services Office will open for business on that day at their new location in the Village Mall Office Building, 4815 Burning Tree Road, Suite 100.

For the last ten years, the administration's office has been located in downtown Duluth on Superior Street.

A number of factors combined to instigate the move.  The largest of those was that the building they had been operating out of was recently sold.  However, officials say that the new location in the Village Mall offers more available office space, easier access for customers, and free parking. One addition benefit is that the new office is located right on the DTA bus line.

Sherry Rodriguez - the St. Louis County Veterans Services Officer - suggests that this is the perfect time for any veteran to come and visit.

"It's worth repeating to all veterans, now in our new location - come and see us, even if you've been denied benefits in the past. Laws and eligibility requirements changes. But we are as committed as ever to ensure you get the benefits you've earned for serving our country."

To facilitate the move, the Duluth office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, June 21 and 22 in advance of the move.  Veterans who have a pressing need on either of those two days are asked to contact the Hibbing office:  218-262-6090.

St. Louis County is home to more than 18,000 U.S. Military Veterans - representing more than 9% of the total county population.
