Another sign of The Apocalypse, or just a market economy run amok? Yes. Barbie, the movie, has taken in $1.4 billion dollars, making it the highest grossing movie of 2023. But Barbie comes in many different shapes and colors, including one that looks amazingly like Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac when she was 27 years old. Thank you Mattel. My wife is going to play with this variation of Barbie for hours on end. Or toss it in the trash. Not sure yet.

According to Rolling Stone: Stevie Nicks surprised fans who were in attendance at her show at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday with news that Mattel told her they would be creating an official Stevie Nicks Barbie.

“I have something very exciting to share with you a few hours before the rest of the world.” During her speech, Nicks said that the toy maker approached her a year ago. “I was very overwhelmed. Will she be like me? Will she have my spirit? Will she have my heart?” The Barbie comes dressed in Nicks’ Rumours outfit, according to Rolling Stone.

According to Mattel, Stevie Nicks Barbie emulates her signature spellbinding style, "ready to groove on a moonlit stage with her flowy blonde hair, full textured bangs, and smoky eye." That's good enough for me.

Like just about everyone out there, I'm a big fan of Stevie Nicks, and I don't blame her one bit for jumping on the Barbie Bandwagon. There should be a Stevie Nicks Barbie!
