Sclavi’s Restaurant In Superior Closing At End Of Year
The Twin Ports is losing another restaurant option: Sclavi's Italian Restaurant in Superior has announced that they will be closing at the end of the year. The family-run eatery had become a popular place on Tower Avenue in Superior. According to their social media page, Sclavi's final date for business will be Saturday, December 29.
On the post that announced their closing, Sclavi's thanked their customers but outlined the reasons behind their decision. As a privately-held local business, profit margins are slim and that played a big role in their closing - saying "[t]he fact is, we simply don’t have enough revenue to stay operational any longer", adding "[t]hat is ok."
At the same time, the post described the joy the family received from pleasing their customers:
[F]ocus[ing] on the absolute fortunes and blessings that have come from this business above and beyond what any dollar could ever provide; beautiful, happy, generous and exuberant customers that have become our family. Customers that didn’t just buy a meal, but frequented our establishment as an investment in us and our community; damn... thank you.
They also thanked their employees and vendors that helped make their dream a reality.
The owners have shared that they will continue to honor all reservations and gift certificates right up to and including their final day of business.
