It's a sad day in music as the blues legend B.B. King died in Las Vegas at the age of 89.  He had been diagnosed with exhaustion and dehydration recently and took a break from touring in October.  He wasn't able to return, and died peacefully in his sleep.

I remember seeing B.B. King at an outdoor concert at Grand Casino Hinckley in early 2000's.  Also on the bill that night was The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and others.   I was there to see Kenny perform, as I was a big fan.   But when B.B. took the stage, he took over the audience.  He was in his late 70's then, and sat on a stool, but that didn't matter.  He had the crowd feeling every note he played, and still put on one heck of a show.  I understand he did that right up until the end.   Well done, Mr. King.  And thanks for a fun night.
