Duluth Grandma’s Marathon Weekend Races Filling Up At Record Pace
The Grandma's Marathon Weekend races are filling up fast, but there are still openings to register.
Grandma's Officials say people are signing up at a record pace for the 46th annual Grandma's Marathon, Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, and the William A. Irvin 5K. Nearly 18,000 people are signed up for at least one of the three races in June.
According to a press release that Marketing & Public Relations Director Zach Schneider released, there are only 2500 entries remaining for the races that weekend, and that also includes the Great Grandma's Challenge.
Here is the breakdown of what is left for each race.
- Grandma’s Marathon – 2,000 entries remaining
- Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon – SOLD OUT
- William A. Irvin 5K – 325 entries remaining
- Great Grandma’s Challenge – 150 entries remaining
- Half Great Grandma’s Challenge – SOLD OUT
- 2-Year Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon Guaranteed Entry Program – 90 entries remaining
Obviously, there is more info on the Grandma's Marathon Website. You can also register there if you want to enter one of the races that are still open. Having said that, there is also information on the website about entering one of the sold-out races by becoming one of the Official 2022 Charity Partners.
How it works is you team up with one of the Charity Partners on the website and if they have entries available you can register that way and then raise money for that charity. You will have to contact the organization that you would like to partner with and see if they have any registrations available and what the parameters are to raise money and enter the race.
The 2022 Grandma’s Marathon weekend will be held June 16-18, 2022, That means a few things. You don't have much time to get your training in, you should contact any charities you want to run for and raise money, and get registered.
