Pain whether real or imaginary is still pain. Keeping up in today's society can be a difficult challenge to say the least. Often we turn to our family physician for remedy. The physician assumes the patient will act responsibly when using the prescribed medication. Sometimes that doesn't happen.

Just say no to prescription drugs.

A new report says more people die in America every year from overdosing on prescription pain pills, such as Vicodin and OxyContin, than die from heroin and cocaine combined.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said yesterday that the number of prescription drug deaths, about 40 a day, has more than tripled over the past decade.

“We are in the midst of an epidemic of prescription narcotic overdose,” Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the CDC, said yesterday during a telebriefing.
