Forecasts leading up to the snowstorm that kicked off the final full week of February 2022 predicted some heavy snowfall. The storm, with some help from Lake Superior delivered on predictions - and then some.

The Duluth office of the National Weather Service had projected 12-18 inches of snow over the course of this two-day storm in a swath that included the Twin Ports area and Northern Wisconsin. In some places, those totals were met or exceeded after the first day.

Top snowfall totals after the first wave of this storm included numbers like 17 inches in a couple places in the Duluth area and nearly two feet on the Bayfield Peninsula. As expected, snow continued into day two, leaving a bunch more behind after Tuesday's additions. In all, some of the top snowfall totals reached pretty close to three feet of snow.
