The New Prince Album taken out of the Prince Vault and released by the Prince Estate is called Welcome 2 America.

According to the Prince Official Website, he recorded this album in the year 2010 and was set to release it, but like a couple of other albums, including The Black Album, was put away into the vault and never saw the light of day. I don't know what standards Prince had that this album wasn't released. We will soon find out.

The Prince Website says the album is due for release on July 30th. You can pre-order now if you want. In Prince's book The Beautiful Ones, he talks about a lot of concerns he has for America and how to affect change. This album also talks about his hopes, visions, and how he can see society changing not for the better and he can also see how political views are starting to divide people. He is seeing the misinformation being spread and people need to fight for racial equality.

All this is also in the book, and like so much of Prince's music that keeps him relevant, he can see what is happening. I have always felt that Prince is so observant of the world around him. He was quiet for a long time but toward the end of his life, he was speaking up.

On the website, it says Prince has brought on the talent of bassist Tal Wilkenfeld, drummer Chris Coleman, engineer Jason Agel, with the New Power Generation singers Shelby J, Liv Warfield, Elisa Fiorillo, and keyboardist Morris Hayes, who Prince co-produces the project with.

There is a Deluxe Edition of Welcome 2 America, which I am going to get. The Prince Website says it has a CD, 2 LPs, and a never-before-released 24 track Blu-Ray of a 2011 concert performance that includes a lot of covers of some of his favorite artists recorded at the Forum in Los Angeles. The deluxe edition also features a 32 page 12x12 book, exclusive poster, and limited edition memorabilia.

The Blu-Ray is a surprise for me, he always said he didn't like doing covers because he liked original music. Yet, there are a lot of covers in that concert.
