National Comedian Tours Superior’s World Of Accordions Museum In Hilarious Video
Have you ever seen the Harrington Arts Center "A World Of Accordions Museum" on Belknap Street and wondered what the heck it is? I've driven by it for years and never stepped inside. Now I just may have to after Explore Wisconsinbly's Mary Mack visited the place and got the scoop and gave us some laughs along the way.
First off, the people at the accordion museum are great sports, because obviously there is going to be some poking fun at the fact that it's a museum of accordions. Let's face it, they aren't the sexiest instrument.
The series is hosted by Mary Mack, who is a comedian that was born in Minnesota and grew up in Wisconsin. She's the perfect fit for this. She's also got a part in the Hulu series Solar Opposites. Mary also has put out five comedy albums.
So Mary starts out her tour of the World of Accordions Museum by meeting up with Helmi, who gives her the history. As Mary puts it, she can't believe how much knowledge is packed into this little lady. She seems a little overwhelmed at times.
Helmi even lets Mary play the accordion with her own rendition of Amazing Grace, which Helmi politely listens to with a straight face.
Did you know that this building has a beautiful concert hall? I had no clue it was this nice in there!
Adding to the charm and wonderment of this place are some strange paintings on the wall, like this cat on a pillow. What in the heck is this?
Holy cow, Mary Mack knows how to play the clarinet, actually quite well.
It's a fun video and it shows one of the hidden treasures of the twin ports. Watch the video all the way to the end for some bonus features.
