Northlanders looking for a different perspective on road conditions can now access the view from the crews battling the worst that Mother Nature throws our way.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation made the announcement that they have installed plow cams on some of  their 838 snowplows - allowing the general public a first-hand look at road conditions.

The reasoning behind the move is a combination of emerging technology and "seeing is believing".

So before you hit the road the next time the snow flies, click over to 511mn.org;  along with interactive maps and narratives about the road conditions, you'll find the plow cam link on the left menu.
