Minnesota drivers will start to see signs alerting them to Electric Vehicle Charging Stations along I-94.  Work crews with the Minnesota Department of Transportation started installing the signs along the corridor that runs north of St. Cloud as part of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act that was enacted in 2016.

The I-94 route that runs from Purt Huron, Michigan to the Minnesota-North Dakota border was selected as one of 55 designated routes to promote alternative fuels by alerting drivers to the existence of the charging stations.  This network spans 35 states, covering more than 85,000 miles.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations aren't the only form of alternative energy being promotoed;  hydrogen, propane, and natural gas stations will also see the benefit of signage.
