Gable Steveson of Apple Valley, Minnesota won gold in what Huffington Post says is the comeback of the century. He was wrestling in the heavyweight division finals in Tokyo against Geno Petriashvili of Georgia. This was a tough competitor in the gold medal round, as Petriashvili was the current world champion.

Steveson was down 8-5, when he was able to rally and score a couple points to only be down by one point in the match with only 6.5 seconds left. Down 8-7, he was able to spin around and do a takedown with literally less than 1 second left to score two points and win the match. He sprinted off the mat in celebration. The final scoring was under review, but it held up and he won the gold. Check out the move here.

The United States now has won 3 gold medals in wrestling, 1 silver, and 3 bronze bringing their medal count total to 7, ahead of the next closest Japan at 5 medals. The Apple Valley native was super pumped as you would expect from the win and literally flipped out.
