Minnesota + Wisconsin Family Dollar Stores Recall Health + Beauty Products
A large-scale recall has been issued for a variety of health and beauty items sold at Family Dollar stores across the country. And while the recall doesn't affect stores in all fifty states, it does include those in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the voluntary recall was initiated on certain products sold in the stores that had been "stored and inadvertently shipped to certain stores...outside of labeled temperature requirements". The products in question fall generally under the description of Over-The-Counter-Medical-Devices, and were shipped between the dates of May 1, 2022 and June 10, 2022.
While a variety of different product brand names are involved in the voluntary recall, they fall under the following broad categories:
- Bandages
- Condoms
- Contact lens drops
- Denture cleaning products
- Drug test kits
- First aid strips
- Lubricating jelly
- Nasal mist
- Pregnancy tests
- Saline solution
The above mentioned products were sold under the following brand names at Family Dollar stores:
- At Home
- Bausch and Lomb
- Clear Eyes
- Clearblue
- Curad
- Dentemp
- First Response
- Fixodent
- KY
- Lifestyles
- New Skin
- Opti Free
- Polident

- Preferred
- Skyn

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has posted an up-to-date listing of all of the products involved in the recall, with their product type, brand name, and Lot Codes.
There have been no known reports of customer complaints or reports of illness at this present time. The recall was initiated when the stores supplier determined that the medical products were stored outside of their listed temperature range.
According to the details shared on the U.S. Food and Drug Administrations website, the recall effort is occurring across the country, but doesn't affect every state. Those states not involved in the recall include Alaska, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington. (Alaska and Hawaii aren't involved because Family Dollar doesn't have stores in those states).
It's worth noting again that Minnesota and Wisconsin are involved in the recall.
Customers are directed to check the complete list of recalled items on the U.S. FDA website. If you have one of the items in question, you're directed not to use them. Questions can be directed at the Family Dollar Customer Service number: 844-636-7687.
