When the Vikings traded Stefon Diggs to Buffalo this offseason, Minnesota snagged the 22nd overall pick from the Bills, along with Buffalo's fifth and sixth round picks this year and a pick in the fourth round of the 2021 Draft. With the first of those picks, the Vikings drafted a replacement for Diggs by selecting wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

Jefferson comes out of LSU as a 6' 1", 202 pound wideout that NFL.com says has a good initial first step, is "slippery" when working around traffic, and has a wide catch radius. NFL.com ranks among his biggest weaknesses a need for more attention to detail on route-running and a lack of ability to gain separation.

He was named 2nd Team All-SEC and ranked 2nd in FBS with 18 receiving touchdowns in 2019 along with logging 111 receptions. Vikings.com reports that this marks the second time in franchise history the Vikings drafted at No. 22. The last time the did, they also took a wide receive, picking Percy Harvin in 2009.

Following picking Jefferson, they traded their pick at 25 overall to the San Francisco 49ers, with Minnesota getting picks 31, 117, and 176 in return for pick 25.
