The Minnesota Twins have announced their 2019 Opening Day festivities, which include a flyover from the 148th Fighter Wing, based in Duluth.

The Twins open their season Thursday, March 28, at Target Field and other scheduled highlights include:

  •  Ceremonial First Pitch will be thrown by Twins great Justin Morneau.  Morneau was the 2006 American League Most Valuable Player, a four-time All-Star and a key leader on three different Twins AL Central Division championship clubs.
  • Naional Anthem – Minneapolis songwriter and performer Sean Tillman (aka Har Mar Superstar) will sing the National Anthem.
  • American Flag Raising – World War II veteran and centenarian Lawrence Cline of Alexandria, Minnesota, who celebrated his 100th birthday Sept. 23, 2018, will raise the American flag as part of the Salute to America presented by Thomson Reuters. Cline was drafted into the Army at age 22, served from 1942-45 and spent more than two years overseas, mostly near Australia.

Also, if you're one of the first 30,000 fans through the gate, you'll receive a Twins puffer vest, with Adult sizes Medium and XL available.

The current Minneapolis forecast for Opening Day is cloudy with a high in the mid 50's.  The first pitch against Cleveland is scheduled for 3:10 p.m.
