As Minnesota continues to march toward an eventual removal of pandemic restrictions, the Minnesota Twins announced Thursday they are throttling up the number of people they will be welcoming into Target Field.

The team opened the season allowing up to 10,000 fans at games, which is roughly 25% capacity at Target Field. They've operated under that policy through the first month and a half of their season, but that is set to change very soon.

The team announced a three-phase roadmap to having a full Target Field later this season, with the first of those phases starting Friday, May 14.

Phase 1 - Friday, May 14 - Sunday, May 30

The first phase shifts from their current 25% capacity to a 60% capacity, more than doubling the number of fans that will be able to be in the stands for the rest of the month of May. Similar to the way tickets were being sold under the 25% capacity, "pods" of seats in groups of 2 or 4 will be sold. This will allow for maintained distancing, while additional pods will become available to purchase.

Phase 2 - Tuesday, June 8 - Sunday, June 27

The second phase increases the stadium capacity to 80%, with Twins season ticket holders being able to return to their normal seat locations for the remainder of the season.

Phase 3 - Monday, July 5 - End of the season

The third and final phase opens the stadium to full capacity, though the team does say a limited number of physically-distanced seats will remain available for the rest of the 2021 season. These will be available upon request, and you'll need to call the Twins ticket office in order to take advantage of this.

Ticket Availability

While the team has been selling tickets in limited chunks at a time, the rest of the regular season home games will go on sale for games from June 8 through September 30 at noon on Thursday, May 20.

Changes In Health & Safety Guidelines

While tickets will still be sold in pods through the end of Phase 1 at the end of May, the team says physical distancing requirements at Target Field will be lifted starting May 14.

Face coverings will still be required unless you are actively eating or drinking while at Target Field until further notice.

The current bag policy will remain in effect until further notice.

Capacity limits at Target Field's indoor dining areas and bars will remain in effect through May 26.

Continued cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing measures will remain in effect through the season.
