Eating ice cream and a chance to win awesome stuff? Sign me up!

Minnesota's tourism organization, Explore Minnesota, announced a delicious ice cream-centered summer giveaway via social media at the beginning of June that offers an excuse to tour Minnesota's ice cream shops with the opportunity to not only enjoy the tasty summertime treat, but also win some getaways around the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

The way the whole thing works is by stopping at one of the roughly 100 participating ice cream shops in Minnesota, getting your favorite ice cream, and grabbing a Minnesota Scoop punch card. Be sure to get your punch card stamped before you leave, and you're on your way to scoring some free stuff. You need to visit a total of 5 participating ice cream shops and get your punch card stamped at each shop in order to have a chance to win. Then you just need to submit a photo of your completed punch card. Here are the full instructions.

So, a couple of cool things. First, Explore Minnesota says many participating shops have a unique "#OnlyInMN creation" that they are offering for the promotion. I am always up for trying new kinds of ice creams and ice cream creations. Bring them on!

Second, there are a total of 4 participating ice cream shops within a short drive if you live in the Twin Ports area, with two of them right in Duluth. Love Creamery and Grandma's Restaurant /Grandma's Boxcar in Canal Park are the two participating places in Duluth, with Magnolia Café in Carlton and Lou's Fish House in Two Harbors also participating. There are also a bunch of participating ice cream places on the Iron Range that are participating, with plenty of other options around the state. Around 100!

The other important thing is, what can you win? Explore Minnesota's website says you'll get a Minnesota Scoop t-shirt just for submitting your completed punch card. Then, you'll be entered into a drawing to win one of several Minnesota getaways, which include lodging, attraction passes, and dining gift cards to a number of places around the state. You can see all of the grand prize offerings on the Minnesota Scoop page.
