Running a full marathon takes months and months of training for most people. But for one Minnesota man, it just took some sloppy joes.

According to an article in the Pioneer Press, 29 year old Erik Anderson of Arden Hills, MN ran 26.2 miles right after a family brunch outing. Anderson's brother, Nik, bet him $5,000 that he couldn't get up and run a marathon in under 5 hours after lunch.

Anderson had never run a marathon before, only reaching 13 miles once a couple of years before.

Erik had “scarfed down sloppy joes, chips and several dips, treats, coffee and most recently cake and ice cream. He set his plate down from finishing cake and ice cream to go change,” according to his brother.

So what does Erik do? He goes on to finish 26.2 miles in 4 hours and 28 minutes. The last 11 miles of the run, Erik was joined by his brother Nik. Then Nik promptly wrote him a check for the $5,000 he owed his brother.

So the next time you need motivation to get to the gym, just remember that Erik Anderson once ran a FULL MARATHON after eating a decent meal and no training.
