Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport Awarded Top Honors In North America
According to a survey by the Airports Council International, KARE 11 TV is reporting the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport is number one in the country.
Minneapolis took the title for the 25 to 40 million passengers category for 2021 according to KARE 11. MSP tied with Salt Lake City. This isn't the first time MSP received travel accolades. MSP was voted best in North America from 2016 through 2019.
The surveys were taken by 370,000 people in 91 countries. The MSP airport is very proud of the award because the survey covered travel during some of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Keep in mind this survey covers the time that was uncomfortable to fly. COVID restrictions were in place and there were all kinds of rules and paperwork you had to have and so traveling was not fun and had a lot of responsibility. Brian Ryks the CEO Of the Metropolitan Airports Commission told KARE 11 that it is a testament to the hiring and staff.
He went on to say that it is a lot of agencies that have nothing to do with the local airport but do have to do with local people giving good service. It's the staff that works for the TSA, airlines, concessions, tenants, stores, MSP, the armed forces, and other employees.
Brian Ryks also said he is really proud that MSP was voted top in North America and one of the best in the world, and this isn't the first time. To repeat is near impossible and yet he said he was happy with the honor.
Look for Airports to start to fill up. KARE 11 that all airports are looking for Spring Break Traffic to pick up and consumers will see flight sales that will make all the airlines get busier.
Plus, Sun Country and Air Canada are adding more flights and destinations which should make airports busier too. Personally, I have noticed that everything is very smooth at the MSP airport when I have to come back to Minnesota, and sometimes people in other cities and airports aren't as nice or easy to work with.
