The Hennepin Theatre Trust is delivering some sad news to fans of Broadway shows.

In an email to supporters, they gave an update to the many scheduled shows that were planned for the coming months, including the Broadway hits 'Hamilton' and 'Frozen'.

Those planning to see 'Frozen', they say that, "We are working closely with the producers to announce our new dates for Frozen in the fall of 2021. So hold on to your tickets as they'll most likely be good for anything that is rescheduled.

I know a lot of people were looking forward to seeing 'Hamilton' during its Minneapolis run from October 6th – November 22nd, 2020, hold on to your tickets as they have rescheduled those shows for July 28th – August 29th, 2021.

'Summer: The Donna Summer Musical' which was scheduled for July 14th - 19th has been canceled, and people who bought tickets will be contacted about refunds.

'To Kill A Mockingbird', and 'Tootsie' will be rescheduled for later dates and they are continuing to monitor the situation for the August 11th - 23d performances of 'Come From Away.'

All shows that were originally scheduled for 2021 are still planned, and not moved at this point. Those include:

  • Oklahoma January 19 – 24, 2021
  • Ain’t Too Proud February 16 – 28, 2021
  • Moulin Rouge! The Musical April 14 – May 2, 2021
  • The Prom May 18 – 23, 2021
  • Hadestown June 22 – 27, 2021
  • Jersey Boys March 16 – 21, 2021
  • Cats June 8 – 13, 2021

They said in the email, "Thank you for your support as a member of our Broadway family. Please know our team continues to work diligently with our partners to navigate the challenges of scheduling touring Broadway shows across the country during this unprecedented time."

The Hennepin Theatre Trust runs the programming for the Orpheum, State and Pantages theatres in Downtown Minneapolis.
