The news reports will tell you it was on this day in 2007 when Rob Grill of the Grassroots was arrested for illegally obtaining painkillers. I'd worked with Rob several times over the years prior to his death. What the news stories didn't tell us is that Rob was always in intense pain. He had a severe leg issue and probably shouldn't be walking, let alone touring for months on end. It's tough to get painkillers from a doctor when you do ten months of one-nighters. Had it not been for his love and dedication to his music and fans, Rob could very well have been alive now. Rob died after a fall at his home two years ago.
