Updated May 8-9 2019 Snowstorm Snowfall Totals
It might be a bit of an understatement to say things escalated quickly on Wednesday. During the morning, the forecast had a chance of a little snow Wednesday evening, but just hours later a winter storm warning was issued and snow started to fly.
The amount of snow we got actually broke a 100+ year-old Duluth record for the day of May 8. Previously, the most snow on record that had ever fallen on May 8 was 5.5 inches back in 1902. That record was beaten yesterday, with the new total of 8.3 inches going down in history as the most to have ever been recorded on May 8.
