With all the races in the Spring, Summer and Fall, VMH 5k, is a great way to have fun running and contributing to preserving the memories of veterans and their stories.

The race begins at 9 AM on Saturday, May 18 at the Other Place Bar on Calvary Road, Duluth, Minnesota. Free parking is available for participants across the street in the Voyageur Bus Company lot.

This annual event is open to all ages. Runners may register ($25) online beginning February 20th, or pick one up at the St Louis Historical Society (Depot). Completed forms may be returned with payments (cash or check) to the Society’s administrative office at 506 West Michigan Street, Duluth, Minnesota.

If registering a team, be sure to state the team name and register each member individually. The registration fee includes a race t-shirt and refreshments. Awards will be given to the top racers in each age group for males and females and teams of five members.

All the proceeds go to Veterans’ Memorial Hall, and is a joint program of the St. Louis County Historical Society and the military service veterans of northeastern Minnesota with a mission to gather, preserve, interpret, and promote the rich and diverse human experiences of veterans, their families and communities, through museum, archival and educational programs. Its website, right here, archives feature more than 6,000 veteran stories.
