Sometimes a little gesture can go a long way for someone. Last year we shared a story about how during the first few months of the Covid-19 pandemic there were painted rocks with nice messages on them on Duluth's Lakewalk. They were done by Duluth girl who wanted to spread good news during some of the darkest months. Now we are turning the corner in what has been a really tough year, and we still can use inspiration to help us keep moving.

My friend Jackie was out this morning on Duluth's Lakewalk when she came across an inspirational message that said, "UR Beautiful, Ur Worthy, U Matter, Keep Going."

It's simple, and probably only took a few minutes to do. But as Jackie said, it was a nice surprise on a chilly, glooming morning when covid fatigue was particularly heavy on her mind.

Sometimes the smallest things can nudge your mind in the right direction for the rest of the day. If you want to see this chalk message yourself before the rain comes, it's out on the Duluth Lakewalk near Fitgers which is located on the East 600 block of downtown Duluth.

Whoever is writing these nice messages, keep it going! Maybe it will inspire other people to do little random acts of kindness which is exactly what the world needs more of.

You can revisit last year's colorful rocks with messages of hope too! That was from Tessa Becker and others in Duluth. They kept those going all summer, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a comeback as well.
