Casey Kasem was on the air for over 50 years and was the host of American top 40, he was also the voice of Shaggy on 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?'.

National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame inductee Casey Kasem is coming to KOOL 101.7 Sundays at 3 pm. Casey founded the radio staple American Top 40, which continues to be the most relevant source for pop music hits. To this day, there is no better way to experience classic hits than with Casey and the Classic American Top 40 Countdown.

It's the perfect part of the KOOL 101.7 80's Dance Party Weekend! When you listen to the show every week, you will instantly travel back in time as if you were in the Delorean with Marty McFly. Relive the past and enjoy the songs that are classics now as if they were just making it to the radio. Every week the full show as it was.

Casey Kasem is one of my personal heroes. I used to listen to him with a pillow speaker. He was wrapping up the show past my bedtime so I would plug in my radio and listen while pretending to sleep. I could hear all the hot songs and stories behind the songs. There were long-distance dedications and the way Casey delivered the background story behind the song, you would think he wrote it.

Casey was also the voice of Shaggy and many other characters on the 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?' TV show. If you got up early on Saturday you could watch the show for an hour as they were the first Ghost Investigators.
