Kettle River Frozen Pizza Recall Affects Minnesota + Wisconsin

A recall has been issued on a popular Northland frozen pizza product.  According to details released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Kettle River Products - located in Askov - is recalling 1,464 pounds of their Chicken Alfredo Pizzas due to "misbranding and an undeclared allergen".

The concern is with wheat as an ingredient and mislabeled products.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is reporting that the company discovered that they had used labels that were intended for a different product does not contain wheat. They immediately reported the situation to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and the recall was initiated.

Here are the specifics of what's being recalled:

• Brand: Kettle River Chicken Alfredo Pizza
• Size: 12-inch, 25-ounce
• Lot Codes:  21343, 21349, 21362, or 22011 - which is stamped on the bottom of the product packaging
• Manufacturing dates:  Various dates between December 8, 2021 and January 3, 2022
• Each bears the establishment number P-04203 inside the USDA mark of inspection
• Package type:  Plastic-wrapped cardboard base

At this time there have been no reported medial issues reported in conjunction with the recalled pizza.  However, the FSIS is concerned that some of these pizza products might be in consumers freezers.  They're asking everyone to check and proceed from there.

Distribution for Kettle River products is pretty widespread across Minnesota and Wisconsin - in both grocery store settings as well as restaurant locations.  Additionally, the product is used for fundraising programs for a variety of groups and activities.

If you believe you have the Kettle River pizza products being recalled in your possession, you're urged not to consume them.  They should be thrown away of returned to the retail store from where they were purchased.
