Lottery Officials: Four Massive Jackpot Winning Tickets Sold in Minnesota
The Minnesota Lottery has a variety of scratch-off tickets ranging in price from $1 to $50. Personally, I don't have the guts (or the money) to drop $50 on a lottery ticket, but I do treat myself to the cheaper ones now and then just for fun.
I haven't had much luck myself—usually, I don't win and when I do it's never more than $20. But there are people in Minnesota who have better fortune than me and have scored big piles of cash. Lottery officials have announced that four tickets sold recently will pay life-changing amounts of money.
Did you know that Americans shelled out a whopping $17 billion on lottery tickets in 2023? According to Yahoo Finance, the average person in the United States spent a little over $50 on tickets.
Here in Minnesota, we're a bit below that average. Collectively, Minnesotans spent $205,179,563 on lotto tickets last year, with each person here averaging just under $36 spent on the lottery for the whole year.

Lately, there have been several scratch-off winners worth mentioning. One person in St. Louis Park struck gold with a $50,000 ticket from Youngstedt's Minnoco, while another in Becker also snagged $50,000 from a Speedway ticket. In Minneapolis, someone celebrated a $25,000 win from Lunds & Byerlys.
These wins are definitely exciting, but the next four winners scored even bigger jackpots!
