Undated (MinnesotaNow)- At least three people lost their lives in crashes on Minnesota’s roads on Thursday.

That’s according to the State Patrol. One of the fatalities involved a motorcycle, another happened in a construction zone and the third involved a tanker truck and road grader.

The first fatality happened Thursday morning and the final deadly crash occurred Thursday afternoon.

A semi and motorcycle collided shortly before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy. 28 and Hwy. 71 near Sauk Centre. 

A 63-year-old man from Glenwood, MN was stopped behind a pick-up when he was struck behind by the semi, driven by 32-year-old Ramon Jesus Garcia Rangel of St. Paul, according to the state crash report

The state crash report says the semi then hit the pick-up in the intersection. The 22-year-old driver of the pick-up was not hurt.

Authorities plan to identify the deceased motorcycle operator Friday afternoon.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday, a construction worker died after being struck by a dump truck. He was hit in the work zone on Hwy. 610 and Noble Pkwy. in Maple Grove. 

The state crash report identifies the construction worker as 25-year-old Adam Frederick Smith of Seymore, WI. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The 57-year-old Florida man was not hurt, the State Patrol says. 

Thursday’s third fatality occurred near the Minnesota-North Dakota border. A tanker and road grader were heading south on Wilkin County Rd. 3 when they crashed and came to rest in the ditch shortly before 4:30 p.m. 

The state crash report does not list the death toll from the collision. Officials plan to release more information about the Wilkin County fatality Friday afternoon.
