The State Patrol updated its crash report regarding the fatality that occurred in south central Minnesota’s Le Sueur County on Monday afternoon.
A Jeep driven by 53-year-old Michael Alvin Hoffman of Mankato and a car, operated by 20-year-old Dwan Pierre Long collided on Hwy. 22 near St. Peter shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The updated state crash report says Hoffman’s vehicle was traveling north and Long’s vehicle was heading south prior to the deadly collision.
Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved, the report says.
The State Patrol has delayed releasing further details regarding Sunday’s second fatal crash.
Preliminary information indicates a semi operated by a 48-year-old Lake Benton man was attempting to turn onto Hwy. 75 when it was hit in the intersection by a southbound semi truck driven by a 68-year-old Gary, SD man.
That deadly crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. at an intersection about 45 miles northwest of Marshall in far western Minnesota’s Lac Qui Parle County.
The State Patrol plans to release a more complete accident report on that fatality Monday night.
