Why Leaving Your Car Overnight At This Minnesota Pub Is Rewarding
A Minnesota Pub's note is making the rounds online after it was shared on social media. The note, which is meant to be left on a vehicle's windshield if the vehicle parks overnight, isn't what you might think it is. Rather, the business owner's notes are meant to thank the driver for leaving the car behind, in case the driver had been drinking. There's even a discount for the driver.
The note, shared to social media by the pub, says:
Dear Murphy's Guest,
We've noticed that you've left your vehicle here overnight. While we don't know whether you consumed any alcohol last night, we are grateful for your decision not to drink & drive - you may have just saved a life!
Please continue to be the example for others by not drinking and driving. To say thank you, we are offering you 50% off an appetizer of your choice * only to be used in-house.
To be used within 30 days at any of our 2 locations.
We appreciate you!
Love - Yours Truly,
Marissa West
The post reflects a different attitude toward cars left in the business's parking lot. In some cases, cars left behind can be ticketed and towed, depending on where the business is located.
Other times you might get a note from the owner on your vehicle, but it isn't a nice as what Murphy's leaves behind.
I like the fact that Marissa isn't judging the driver, but is instead giving the driver a 'cookie' for not driving under the influence.

Shouldn't more businesses be doing something like this?
