For many Minnesotans, we are on the doorstep to grilling season. We've already had some glorious days, weather-wise, and with some incoming snow, why not think about some warmer weather and grilling? One Minnesota market has what could perhaps be the most unique and Minnesotan brat in the land of 10,000 flavors...a walleye brat.

So Many Flavor Options When It Comes To Brats

I've told you previously about a Minnesota meat market that sells gummy bear brats, which, if you've never had them before, you've got to give them a try. Now I have recently discovered another Minnesota market, located in North Central Minnesota, that is offering up something very different, very Minnesotan, and a great substitute to your typical fish fry Fridays during Lent. A walleye brat!

It's Not An AI Hoax, These Are A Real Flavor

So it's tough to believe anything on the internet right now, there is so much AI slop out there that you've really got to do some research before passing along something you see on social media. One of those items that I originally thought was AI slop was these walleye brats.

That's not the case as Shaefer's Foods in Nisswa is really offering up packs of the unique flavored/stuffed brats.

According to a social media post from Schaefer's Foods:

"They’re back… whether you like it or not!!!

Our in-store made Walleye Brats have officially been restocked.

Yes — those brats. The ones that started arguments in the aisle. The ones some people called “gross.” The ones other people secretly bought so many packs of that we had no choice but to make a second batch.

Love them or hate them, the numbers don’t lie — these controversial brats sold out the first time.

So if you’re curious, brave, or already a fan… swing in and grab a pack before this batch disappears too."

I've got two questions about these: Do you serve it with tartar sauce on top like ketchup and mustard? And would you try'em?

Schaefer's Foods is located at 23962 Smiley Rd in Nisswa. You can give them a call before you make the drive to make sure they've still got some in stock. You can find their phone number and other details about the store by heading to their website, here.
