Eclipse Watchers! Get Your Free Eclipse Sunglasses At Great River Libraries

GET YOUR ECLIPSE SUNGLASSES WHILE THEY LAST

The Great River Regional Library's have received some Eclipse sunglasses from StarNet. a hands-on learning network for libraries and their communities all across the United States. They have a goal of helping library professionals build STEM skills by providing activities and resources.

With the upcoming Solar Eclipse coming on Monday, April 8th, 2024, they have sent FREE Eclipse viewing glasses to our libraries.

The glasses will be available at the following locations for free. They are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and they will not have any more coming in, so if you want a pair, I would ask your local library for your free glasses sooner rather than later.

MAKE SURE YOUR KIDS KNOW

It might seem like common sense to not look at the sun during a Solar Eclipse, but it's important to remind your friends and family, and especially young children, the importance of wearing Eclipse glasses if they are going to be participating in the viewing. Regular sunglasses WILL NOT protect your eyes, and there might be 'fakes' being sold on places like Amazon and Temu. It's important to know what to look for. If you are not able to get protective lenses, then find alternative ways of viewing the eclipse, like the old fashioned pin-hole through paper method.
