Wisconsin Fire Department Shares Superior Alarm Testing Notice
Emergency siren systems in cities and towns are generally tested once a month in order to make sure they are actually working like they should in the event of an emergency.
Depending on the area, emergency sirens are generally weather related and on a non-test day usually mean you should seek shelter and get further information.
In addition to cities and towns having sirens, many large facilities do as well. One such facility is the Enbridge Superior Terminal.
As part of routine maintenance and as you can see on the post from the Superior Fire Department, on Tuesday, April 23rd they will be testing their emergency alarm system. Scheduled to potentially start at 9:00AM, it could go off throughout the day and possibly the next day as well.
After the testing day, or days, routine monthly testing will be done on the third Tuesday of each month at 9:00AM, starting in May of 2024.
Spread the word that if you hear the alarms on Tuesday or Wednesday, it's most likely only testing of the system.
