Yum! Duluth Cider And Fitger’s Brewhouse Releasing ‘Pop-Tarts’ Themed Beverages
I feel like you'd be hard-pressed to find someone that doesn't love Pop-Tarts. Two Duluth beverage makers are putting a spin on the delicious pastry with beverages inspired by them.
The trend of Pop-Tart beers has been catching on in recent years. Seen as far back as 2015, the trend is coming to the Twin Ports area in not one, but two different beverages! The creation of these two beverages is in partnership with Duluth's Best Bread Company and their homemade Pop-Tarts.
Let's take a look at the two new offerings as well as when and where you'll be able to get them.
Strawberry Pop-Tart Cream Ale
For fans of cream ales, this sounds like a really fun twist on the beer! Fitger's Brewhouse will be brewing up the cream ale accented by the strawberry pastry flavor as a new offering for this winter.
You'll be able to try this new beer offering as part of a launch event on Friday, January 12 at the Fitger's Brewhouse. The event will start at 5 pm, with the beer and baked goods both available for those in attendance.
Cherry Pie Pop Tart Cider
If you're more of a cider fan, there's an offering for you too! Duluth Cider is getting in on the Pop-Tart fun with their Cherry Pie Pop-Tart Cider, which they describe as having "sweet cherry and cinnamon accentuating juicy apple" flavor.
Similar to Fitger's, Duluth Cider will be holding a launch party event on Friday, January 12. The event will be from 5 pm to 7 pm, with baked goods from Duluth's Best Best available too.
In a release from Duluth's Best Bread, they called the collaboration between their business, Fitger's Brewhouse, and Duluth Cider "the ultimate tag-team effort". Duluth's Best Bread owner Robert Lillegard commented, saying "We figure, if you're going to break your New Year's resolutions--go big." He went on to say "Beer or cider AND a Pop Tart? That is how you embrace winter."
I feel like a lot of people will agree!
Duluth's Best Bread does make their own homemade Pop-Tarts, which they say are a bit different than what you're used to out of a box from the store. Their version is more in line with the traditional recipe, which has been around for centuries. They say their version is flaky, the icing thick and sweet, and the filling stuffed with real fruit.
There is no word how long these Pop-Tarts-inspired beverages will be around, so it might be a good idea to give them a try before they disappear. Cheers!
