The show is now expected to make its debut in Fall 2025, according to BroadwayWorld.com, the stage adaption of 'Purple Rain' will now debut October 16th and run through November 16th at Minneapolis' State Theatre.

The Star Tribune is reporting that the delay will give the team more time for "creative development." They go on to speculate that the delays could be due to "added pressure" of having the show debut in Prince's hometown before heading to the bright lights of Broadway.

Filmed in Minnesota and released in 1984, "Purple Rain" captivated audiences and earned over $70 million at the box office. Its soundtrack, a masterpiece featuring hits like "Let's Go Crazy," "I Would Die For You," and the iconic title track, reigned supreme on the Billboard Top 200 chart for an impressive 24 weeks. This phenomenal album marked Prince's first ascent to the coveted number one spot.
