Peak Wind Gusts Recorded Around Northern Minnesota, Northern Wisconsin During Blizzard
While this winter, overall, hasn't been too severe, the Northland has now seen a few blizzards with heavy snow and strong wind gusts.
The one we saw a few weeks ago in February brought with it snow totals over 3 feet in one spot and wind gusts just shy of hurricane force speeds.
Our most recent snowstorm, again bringing blizzard conditions to the North Shore and Duluth area, was thankfully a little less aggressive than that February storm. That said, it still wasn't pleasant.
Snow totals from this week's storm were around a foot across a good area of the Northland, and wind gusts didn't get quite to that near-70 mph speed we saw last month, but it was still windy.
